Trade of the day

Barcelona v Arsenal 19.45pm

Stats/Head to head

  • Arsenal have won none of their four meetings with Barcelona in Europe (two defeats, two draws).
  • The Gunners have failed to win any of their last three competitive games in Spain: two draws against Villarreal and a defeat against Seville. Their last victory on Spanish soil was at the Bernabeu, against Real Madrid in February 2006.
  • Arsenal have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 away games in the Champions League.

Team news

Arsenal will be without midfielder Alex Song for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg at Barcelona as he has knee and groin injuries.

The Gunners are already missing captain Cesc Fabregas, Andrey Arshavin and William Gallas through injury.

Barcelona are without striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede hurt his calf in the warm-up before their 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

Captain Carles Puyol and defensive partner Gerard Pique are both banned.

Arsenal face a wait on the fitness of midfielder Tomas Rosicky, who is rated as 50:50 following a rash tackle from Karl Henry in Saturday’s win over Wolves.

Nugget thoughts

Feel for the boys tonight really do, am hoping it will be damage limitation and praying for a miracle! No Fabregas, Van Persie, Gallas, Arshy, and concerns over Song and Rosicky. Barca too have both centre backs out for the biggest game of both sides season. Much as love to see the Arse go through it would take a monumnetal performance and without their captain just can’t see it.

Good luck all.

Post match round up

At 2-1 whilst £40 was lost on unders the decision was made to green up on correct score for £58 and not risk the 3-2 scoreline although believed Barca would score 4 it wasn’t worth risking a big red. £18 profit though, and some made more laying the 3-1 scoreline in last few minutes! If only Messi would sign for the Gunners!

Membership still open for April folks and is growing by the day, why not try us for a month?
