Trade of the Day Saturday 28th Aug

Morning all,

The weekend is here again, and that means trading time! Let’s do the best side in the world today, errr, just kidding.

Blackburn v Arsenal 12.45pm

MATCH PREVIEW

Blackburn go in search of their 1,000th win in top-flight football against an Arsenal side without an away victory since March.

The Gunners swatted aside Lancastrian opposition last weekend, thrashing newly-promoted Blackpool 6-0, but will face a far tougher examination at Ewood Park.

Blackburn held Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool on home turf last season, and beat Arsene Wenger’s men 2-1 in May. Unashamedly direct and physical, Rovers will relish the chance to unsettle the Gunners.

Wenger is certainly braced for a bruising encounter, urging match officials to offer more protection to goalkeepers. After watching Tottenham’s game at Stoke, which was refereed by Saturday’s referee Chris Foy, Wenger said: “You cannot say any more it is football, it is rugby on the goalkeepers.”

Arsenal took one point from their final four away fixtures last season, a run that ended their title hopes, and they were fortunate to draw at Liverpool a fortnight ago. If Wenger’s side are to challenge for silverware this season, their away record will have to improve.

TEAM NEWS

Blackburn’s David Dunn could return after recovering from a groin injury.

Keith Andrews is ruled out by a similar problem, while Gael Givet is expected to play after losing a tooth in the League Cup win over Norwich.

Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny is back after a ban, but new signing Sebastien Squillaci will not feature.

Denilson is fit after an abdominal problem, while Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie could return after starting on the bench against Blackpool.

STATS etc.

  • Robin van Persie has scored 10 goals in nine games in all competitions against Blackburn.
  • Sam Allardyce is unbeaten in his last seven Premier League games as a home manager against Arsenal and has won four of the last five.
  • There have been 19 goals scored in the last four Premier League games between Rovers and the Gunners.

The Gunners have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 away matches in all competitions.
Blackburn have lost only one of their last 11 Premier League matches at Ewood Park and only four in 31 home games under Sam Allardyce.

Last 6 at Ewood Park have ended 2-2-2 in ALL competitions.

Last 6 at home are 3-1-2 and Arsenal last 6 away are 4-1-1, (some of those are friendlies).

STRATEGIES

Hard not to see goals here with 19 in the last 4 between these sides. Whilst Blackburn are no Blackpool and it’s an away game Arsenal always look capable of lots of goals whilst having a leaky defence too, especially against a side that scored 59% of their goals from set pieces last season, (top in the league). Several options here.

Overs + CS

Over 2.5 at 1.91 is very generous. Back over 2.5 and Back 1-1 for 25% of overs stake. (Personal choice is waiting 10 mins and getting a better overs price).

OR

CS

Back 1-2
Back 1-3
Back 2-2

Under 1.5 insurance optional.

OR

NAC

Back over 3.5
Back under 2.5
Back 1-2
Back 2-1

See you in Vets Room at about 12.30pm. Come on the Arse!!!

Post match round up

Couldn’t have gone any better! At 1-1 profit was made from overs and 1-1 trade. The correct scores were layed at various times. And the NAC was a winner due to backing more on 2-1 and 1-2 when the score was 1-1. £83 profit from this author.

Also other trades we were doing in the chat room. Marvellous.

Coming to end of the month so why not join for September, learn to trade and make money.
