Trade of the Day – Tues, 14 Sept

Post match roundup

This should read poxy match roundup!. After the heady delights of the weekend, we warned about coming back down to earth. Both TOTDs proved just that. Spurs two very early goals had us scrabbling to minimise an inevitable loss, Man Utd`s ineffectual performance at Old Trafford likewise. £35 & £30 losses respectively

Speculation & Team News

  • Defoe & Dawson unavailable for Spurs (Modric should play)
  • Mertesacker, Naldo & Pizarro unlikely starters for Bremen

Redknapp offers the following thoughts on tonight`s CL fixture

“We go to Germany and [expect] they will play with a diamond, so they will have four players in the middle of the park.

“If we have two in there they will run around chasing shadows as Werder pop it around. So we will have to look at that.

At home, I am 90% certain I will play with two strikers. But away from home, it will be different.”

It could pay to take a contrarian view to the market which expects goals. It always does when Bremen are playing.  This, however, is a CL 1st leg fixture which both teams would probably be happy with a draw. In addition the Spurs` manager`s comments on the tactics & team formation he will employ away from home endorse the feeling that this could be a low scorer

Man U v Rangers 19.45pm

Initially looked at the NAC for Man U tonight as the 3.5 was trading at 2.70 last night and has steamed since then and is the same price as the 2.5! So no value there now………..FIP? Fip is a no go as you have to cover some danger scores like 2-1, 3-0 but with the AUQ so short and the high probability of Rangers not scoring here the price on AUQ is too short to back. Potential of a late 4-0 would screw you on that strategy in this game. So let’s try something different.

Man u at home are 17/5 for last 6. 4 of those 6 they have scored 3 goals. They are 5-0-1, (loss to Chelsea). Rangers are 9/4 for goals scored and conceded away. They are 4-1-1.

Manchester United have won and kept a clean sheet in both of their previous meetings with Rangers (2003/04 Champions League). The Red Devils defeated Rangers 3-0 at home and 1-0 in Glasgow.

Rangers have won 53 league titles in Scotland (currently the world record) while Manchester United are tied with Liverpool with 18 Premier League titles.

Manchester United have only lost one of their eight European matches against Scottish teams (five wins, two draws). Only Celtic have been able to defeat United; in the 2006/07 group stages (0-1).

Rangers haven’t been able to win any of their last 10 Champions League games (three draws, seven losses). Their last victory came back in October 2007; 3-0 at Lyon.

The Gers have failed to score a goals in six of their previous 12 European matches against English sides – none of these 12 matches have seen them score more than two goals.
Manchester United have only lost one of their last 26 Champions League home games (19 wins, six draws).

Rangers posted the worst shooting accuracy of any team in the 2009/10 Champions League, hitting the target with just 32% of their attempts.

Man Utd scored a joint-competition high seven headed goals in the 2009/10 Champions League.

Team News

A fired up Rooney who is starting to find form is back as could Ferdinand.

Back under 2.5

Lay AUQ2

Back 2-1
Back 3-1
Back 3-0

Stakes to members

You could lay both AUQ markets here with the correct staking for profit aside a freak result like 5-3, 3-4 etc.

Am expecting goals to the home side who will be looking to get off to a flying start. Game ends under 2.5 we will lose potentially £20 max. Potential profits here could be up to £35 if the goals go in which we hope! 2-1, 3-0, 3-1 we can nick a few quid.

I will be in Rookies Room trading this one.

See you then.
